Meet Your Instructor
Jennifer Stengel-Mohr
Jennifer began her career with the New York City Board of Education in 1997. She was a teacher and coach for over 10 years. Her extensive experience in educating language learners led her to take a position as a full-time lecturer in the TESOL-teacher education program at the City University of New York. In that role she has been
able to assist current and future teachers as they develop best practices. Jennifer’s passion for the Arts led her to be active for nearly 2 decades in Grants and Special Projects throughout New York City bringing art making experiences, in all its forms, to under-served populations. It was through those experiences that she realized the transformative effect the arts have on learning, in particular language development.
Jennifer grew up in a Christian home and has loved the Lord her entire life, but it wasn’t until her son was born on the Eve of September 11, 2001 when she realized that she had to press-in and fully rely on God daily. As a teacher and storyteller she always looks for the lesson and connection in each circumstance. Jennifer enjoys connecting to people through their stories and helping them see God’s purpose. Through her career as an educator, in her business, and now in her ministry she encourages others to build confidence to share their stories. She runs an annual women’s retreat and has published devotions with Christian Devotions.US. Jennifer is in the process of writing her first book.
